TRAVIS MILNE

KEEPING UP

Think cop by day and handyman by night sounds strange? Not if you’re Travis Milne, one of the most laid-back, genuine guys you’ll find in the Hollywood circuit. Season 2 of ABC’s hit drama series Rookie Blue kicks off in June, in which he stars as a small-town guy who’s thrown into the world of big-city policing. The role is a change from his everyday “nice guy” demeanor, which is easily attributed to growing up in Alberta, Canada – the social paradox to Tinseltown. It’s also where he honed his construction and carpentry skills, one of his favorite hobbies. “I love being really hands-on,” he explains about remodeling most of the flat he moved into while filming. And since acting is such an involved process, the time off between jobs has been a real adjustment. Which is not to say he doesn’t enjoy it, describing himself as a “professional leisure sport athlete,” on those days, dabbling in basketball, surfing, running or anything to keep himself on the go.
